Uchida 2000 Counting Machine Upper Blade Replacement Procedure
1. Remove the old blade
Positioning the Knife Holder
Lower the knife holder to the lowest point via the control panel or manual pan carriage to ensure that the blade is separated from the knife bedding strips.
Place a wooden bedding block under the blade to prevent the knife frame from sliding down accidentally.
Loosening the fixing bolts
Loosen the fixing bolts at each end of the blade (usually 2-3 per side) with an Allen key.
Be careful to leave 1-2 bolts unscrewed to temporarily hold the blade in place.
Removing the Blade
Slowly lift the blade off the blade holder hook and place it smoothly in a safe position.
Check the old blade for wear (replace if edge is chipped or badly dulled).
2. Install the new blade
Blade Inspection
Verify that the new blade model matches the equipment (refer to the instruction manual for specifications applicable to the Uchida 2000 model).
Clean the surface of the blade with a soft cloth to prevent oil or dust from affecting the cutting effect.
Positioning and Securing
Align the new blade with the knife holder hooks and slowly lower it until it touches the knife mat strip.
Tighten both end bolts initially, retaining slight looseness for subsequent adjustment.
Adjusting Depth of Cut
Manually pan-turn the knife holder up and down, observing the contact between the blade and the matting strip.
Use the special wrench to fine-tune the blade height to ensure that the depth of cut is 0.5-1mm (whichever cuts the paper).
Tighten all fixing bolts evenly to avoid skewing the blade.
